I heard they are changing it back but I don't know if this is true but I wish they would. I have no appietite any more and I enjoy food. LA laney 23 Dec I have experienced nausea, headaches, poor appetite and the pain returns too soon. I'm noticing that I have to take more than what's prescribed to function and the doctor's are playing with peoples health, now they also want to lower patients dose without monitoring them or even know their tolerance limit and some are just taking them away from patients altogether without detoxing them.
I too know a few patients that have passed because of this and it is very unfair to patients who really need them and their families.
I have been on oxy's for 8 years now and as soon as purdue made this change doctors are making irrational decisions on who should be taken off oxy. Now that Prudue changed the way that they make them I need to find something else. They take to long to react. Where it was 15min now it is 45 to 60min.
Also they do not last 12 hrs like the old ones the OC did. It is sad that the ones that take there meds the way that they are supposed to has to suffer due to the expense of those who abuse them.
Also I have heard that they are not good to take causing other problems. I am wondering if there is another company that makes the regular OC's. RA raldoll 13 Feb unfortunately you will not be able to get the good oc's anymore Fisherman 13 Feb What is this? They should not even call them Oxycontin, they recipe was changed, it deserves a totally different name and for people that abuse the medications are also abusing theirselves.
I was reading on how they put niacin in with oxycodone pills, so if crushed and sniffed the person will get a burning sensation with a tearing pink eye. I hope that there is a good substitute and is made quick for a lot of you. YR yrrejssimouy23 22 Feb I srarted taking the new ones about 3 months ago. I Take three a day of the forty mg. It is really not helping me at all i can't sit stand clean and i feel if i ask him to raise them he my get made and take them away all together.
For the past 6 months, the pharmacy have been giving me these OP ones and said they were just as good. Let me tell you, as far as I can tell-they work about half as well and its a shame they changed them. Does anyone know any drug stores that might stock the original ones? I live in TN. Thanks guys MI michevis 4 Mar Okay so here's the scoop, new OP pills have a small amount of anti-narcotic built into them.
This is supposed to be released when pills are crushed, chewed, shot-up, etc. Problem is that in slower digestive systems, like ones using narcotics, the anti-narcotic seems to come out reguarly. Take the first pill, seems okay, anti-narcotic is released, second pill, not so good, more anti-narcotic, third and so on. Most doctors will deny this fact, most that get some goodies from prescribing Oxy.
I had an internal medicine professional finally admit to what was going on. He deals mainly with terminal cancer patients, no time to B. Methadone stores in fat cells so even if you wean off the drug it continually releases small amounts into your blood stream and causes symptoms of withdrawl for up to a year.
I was also given Oxy Ir, yes it is the same drug and at first seems to work great. This is because even Mighty Mouse would eventually show signs of "pseudo-addiction" and assuming most of us are on a breakthrough drug of some sort that exacerbates the problem ten fold.
I have Pallindromic Rheumatism, Lupus, Fibronyakgia, Seizures, medically induced ulcerative colitis and I don't abuse my drugs but I live in terrible pain, all the time. The frequent use of oxycodine ER caused me to have these continual ups and downs in pain that was uncontrollable and he my PCP tried to terminate my pain contract.
Luckily I went to a specialist who gave it to me straight, was able to intelligently confront him, pointing out that it was he who prescribed the meds and that he should have known better. JE jenwhite 20 May they added a chemical so if you try to crush it to snort or add water to shoot it then it will rubberize to avoid the misuse of the pills RO rosey50 30 May They do not last on me but about hours, I have lots more pain now, makes me sick to my stomach, irritable, it has totally interupted my life and made me miserable and my family also.
I have lots more fatige and feel achey all over, more hot flashes and sweats, I get dizzey more often. It feels like I'm having sever withdrawals. After the pill returns to room temperature or is no longer soft, remove it from the freezer.
Let it sit a couple more minutes. Now grab a super sharp blade. I use an xacto knife that you get for building model airplanes. A regular kitchen knife does not work very well.
Scrape the cooked and cooled pill off the plate that was in the microwave and put it onto a new surface hard, flat glass-like surface. I use a small chunk of a granite countertop sample. Start chopping the pill up. Slice thin, small pieces off. Side Effects and Dangers Snorting Oxycodone: Side Effects and Dangers Synthesized from an organic compound found in opium, oxycodone is a potent opioid drug that is used to treat moderately severe to severe pain.
For people who suffer from chronic conditions like cancer or degenerative arthritis, oxycodone can allow optimal functioning and improve quality of life.
But when the drug is abused, this controlled narcotic can quickly cause chemical dependence and addiction. Like other opiates, oxycodone can cause a fatal overdose when you ingest too much of the drug. Because of the dangers of abuse and overdose , oxycodone and the drugs that contain it are classified as Schedule II controlled substances. Contrary to popularbelief addiction is rare, especially in legitimate users, and thelargest indicator of risk is personal and family history ofsubstance abuse.
How can you get Oxycontin? Some people who have oxys prescribed to them sell them on the streets. Its not worth doing them if you have pain or even just for fun. Opiates are very addictive and impossible to stop using after a while. Can you snort Oxycontin what are the effects?
Yes you can snort Oxycontin but it is extemely dangerous. Last summer a 21 yr. It goes into the bloodstream too fast and once it's there, there's no going back.
I can't ask you enough to not do this. What generic brands of Oxycontin are available? Unfortunately, Oxycontin does not come in generic form, and it's timed released action is patented and very expensive.
Well that is not entirely correct as Oxycontin is not the only time released version of oxycodone, it does however have it's own patented release compound.
Put this way lots of pharmacies will fill an Oxycontin RX with a generic time released oxycodone In fact at one recent point there was generic owned by Purdue because all the other generics had stopped. Now all the sudden some ar back again it is crazy! It remains to be seen I suppose what happens to the generics still fighting to hang on. I can see the feds making the new "OP" pills the gold standard for anti abuse and force the generics into meeting a new spec or else face extinction.
That is just a shame for patients that can not afford the brand name or even their share of the brand name if their RX provider caps off at a level well under that price! I can't see Purdue being granted a monopoly on this. It's an old drug well past the patent's expiration I'm sure, the only patent in play is the time release compound. How hard can it be to come up with more versions of a time release anti abuse gimicks Perhaps a binary compound where a drug destroying agent sits harmlessly in embedded micropellets that will pass on through a person's digestive tract as long as the pill is swallowed as designed, but should anyone try crushing, heating, or grinding and the destructive agent is released all over the narcotic and instantly ruins it!
Wll one of the generics already had a version that was way tougher to abuse than anything else, so much so that just like the new OP pills there were immediatly lots of complaints that not only could the drug not be separated for abuse, but that it also was not working well at all!
The theory was too much stayed in compound instead of getting into the bloodstreams of legitimate patients! More half baked ideas? How do you snort Oxycontin? Crush it underneath something that will hold it together like a dollar bill or rolling paper , get as much of the coating away withouth losing the white powdery stuff, roll up somethin like the said dollar bill , stick it in one of your nostrils, close your mouth and breathe in hard while holding your other nostril shut.
I just did about 10 mg this way myself, awaiting the comeon. But be careful, especially if new to opiods, and first do more research re dosage and interactions w alcohol and other drugs, many people have died ODeing on this. What can your body do to Oxycontin? The side effects of Oxycontin controlled-release oxycodone are varying. If you use Oxycontin once, the side effects are amazing, a warm blanket of euphoria you may have never thought possible.
One in the same, this is the devastating side effect. If you enjoy using after your first try you will most likely do it again. Until you become mentally addicted and physically dependent. You will become ill if you do not score some hit of opiate. This illness includes but is not limited to, runny nose, insomnia, dementia, disillusionment, paranoia, not feeling as yourself, throwing up, sweating, chills, diaharia, loss of relationships, loss of all the good in your life This road leads to costly rehabilitation programs, relapses.
Can Oxycontin kill you? Of course it can, you would just have to take an excessive amount overdose. The amount it takes depends on your body weight, gender, and tolerance to opiates Is there 60mg Oxycontin? Yes, they're fairly new. They are relatively small and round, just like any other OC, red, and have the imprint "OC" on one side and "60" on the other.
Bayer -- then a German company -- first synthesized Oxycontin in as a hoped for replacement for pharceutical heroin and morphine.
What can you do about lung pain from snorting Oxycontin? Snorting pills is dangerous. It can be fatal. If you have been snorting pills and you are having lung pain, go to your doctor or an ER and get a chest X-Ray done!!!! You can crash quickly! What happens when you snort Oxycontin pills? When you snort an Oxycontin pill, the oxycodone, the drug in it that causes you to feel high, will surpass the time released coating and become instantly exposed in your blood stream.
What does a generic 80mg OxyContin look like? It depends on which manufacturer made it.
