100 mg of zoloft while pregnant

I have 3 children and had pretty bad Pnd after my 3rd. A bit of history I was on endep for anxiety when I fell pregnant, my dr told me to stop cold turkey which I did but I relapsed severely. I ended up losing the baby and had a nervous breakdown. I could not function on any level what so ever. I started on zoloft and it took awhile to level out but I'm doing pretty good on it now.

DH and I are considering a 4th and I know I won't be able to do it without the zoloft so I plan to stay on it. I'm just concerned about side effects on the baby? And concerned that the zoloft won't cut it for my anxiety? My anxiety ATM is what if my anxiety comes back? I can't do that to my family or myself I have suffered from crippling anxiety in the past, which my last pregnancy miraculously 'cured' I was able to got through the whole pregnancy totally calm mind and with a peaceful heart that didn't feel like it was going to burst all day long.

Anyway after about 16 months after having my first baby, I started feeling that tense feeling in my chest again, then the racing thoughts and panic feelings started, and this time depression set in, so I went back on Zoloft, slowly upping it to mg which appeared to work well I was only ever on 25mg pre children.

But of course once the meds started working well I fell pregnant and took myself off them without any medical advice, I just thought it would be best for baby, and for about 12 weeks all was going well and I thought I'd breeze through the pregnancy like I did last time, well boy was I wrong. It can cause sleeplessness so I recommend taking it in the morning. I took it before 11 everyday otherwise I wouldn't take it because then I couldn't sleep.

It almost freaked me out because my anxiety was bad the first day of taking it obviously becuase I was starting meds for this problem and I was afraid of what it would do. I would say the benefits outweigh the bad stuff side effects.

It was worth going through those rough first days but it got so much better then suddenly my anxiety was just I almost cried when I realized it was gone! Hopefully the side effects don't hit you as hard! Mandy I have been on 25mg of Zoloft for 2 years. I actually increased from I was so depressed, anxious all the time. I wished I could just pass out and be absent so I didn't have those feelings. My husband was so worried that I was so anxious and depressed and I knew me feeling that way was worse for my baby then taking meds so I started on Zoloft 50mg.

My boy was born healthy and happy and to a mom who wasn't depressed. Once I started I decided that I wouldn't even wean myself from it after the birth because it is pretty safe while nursing and I was obviously at an increased risk for PPD I'm actually still nursing as well.

I had my baby in February and am now due with this one July 22nd. Healthy babes come from heathy moms and it's important to evaluate the risks and benefits carefully with your provider. Happy pregnancy to you! My doctor said the risk of negative side effects taking Zoloft is less than the risk for negative side effects when your body is stressed from not taking the medication you need. L Linemanswife11 I've been on Zoloft since About a month an a half before we got pregnant I increased my does to mg I tried to taper off and got down to 25 mg and feel comfortable at that does my OB nurse said it's perfectly safe for me to stay on!
