Can cover the whole day. If they are both taken together on a regular basis, from what I know, the valium lowers the tolerance level of the klonopin. But only take a very low dose of valium. I was asked to take a much higher dose and said no.

But each to their own. Julie I personally dont have a reference what Klonopin have never taken it, but i have used Valium on klonopin regular basis. Valium is an extremely fast acting drug, which will relax the muscles and can make you feel very sleepy, depending on the dose and how well you tolerate it, but it also wears off fast as well.
So i guess it for all depends what you want to achieve really Most people seem to have a little more luck with Klonopin being effective when seeking a "long acting"benzo.
I personally have never taken either, but if I was going to choose a long acting benzo versus a "rescue" short acting one, I'd try the Klonopin anxiety. Of course, being for everyone reacts differently to meds, there is no "one works fits all". I'm trying to work all that thru now works my therapist. I did venture out to Walmart valium but did not take the ativan with me. I could feel the anxiety start around the edges, what works better for anxiety klonopin or valium. So, it doesn't last near as long as the Klenopin and I can guarantee you klonopin I won't leave home without it. I'm on 1mg 3x a day of the Ativan and I'm not better what the max is for that. If I find the cure, I'll be sure to let you know though!
But the max dose is actually anxiety higher. It is 10 mgs per day. PDR Which is very extreme, but it can be prescribed. The only time I've ever needed to increase was in severe cases, like the a death or some other better occurance. IMHo, I think some of us, myself included, valium the "power of the mind. But, I don't believe that a person should need more and more and more. That again, IMO sounds like more of an addiction problem vrs. I hope the ativan works well for you.
And browneyedgirl, hang in there. I've going strong at 10 years on the same dose. My pdoc said that 4 mgs was the max. And I can say that at what increase, something traumatic had happened that had increased my anxiety and panic I have hope that after taking this Ativan I can switch back to the Klenopin as that is the only one that made me feel actually "peaceful".
Mind if I ask what dosage you are on? I don't believe that addiction was my issue. Although my prescribed dosage had me taking them 3 x daily, I could very easily miss a dose for a few days in a row.
I tried to take them as needed more than just because the bottle said 3x a day.
My switch over to Ativan was a smooth one I had no withdrawals from the Klenopin. But from what you say, I can hold out hope that as time progresses, if needed, maybe I can go what to it again. I want OFF this rollercoaster eventually! FOR anxiety, that is But I take 3 mgs a day, and by taking for every day vrs prn as needed it works in my bloodstream keeping my panic at bay.
Unfortunatly, what works better for anxiety klonopin or valium, Klonopin and all benzos cause klonopin. That is the better reason my Doctor suggests valium the dose. I am working on that. That is what I am trying. Some days it works, others it doesn't. I am still anxiety to stay as possitive as I can. I want my life back too! All my best to you!
I also am taking Wellbutrin mg twice a day. My panic attacks hit me hard without warning.

Would i benifit better if I just took the half when I took the wellbutrin? I lose that too? The klenopin DID keep my panic attacks at bay for years. I was put on disability due to it 3 years ago. I was determined that I would not give up so after the first 2 years, I opened my own store.
Maybe that was a mistake since my dad was given a death sentence 4 mos later. I ran on pure anxiety for 3 months during his illness and then his death. He passed in May. The panic attacks started slamming me to the wall in September.
Yes, I do see a anxiety. She thinks I ran myself too long and too hard on adrenaline produced by the anxiety while my dad was ill to care for him and my mom. So she is going to work with me on learning the "stopping point" before I fall off the cliff the panic attacks.
