This sample from my mixed operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) word problems reflects the Common Core State Standards for grades 4 and 5.
Solving Equations by Division, Multiplication or taking the Reciprocal
Michael had nineteen balloons. Eight of them were red, four were blue, two were yellow, and the rest were green. How many were green? Create a story problem for this answer: Jacob had four caramel apples left over.
